This workshop is a one-day introduction to clay. 
 
The first part of the workshop is theoretical. We will explain to you the process of bisque and glaze firing, and show you our ceramics oven/kiln. You will be introduced to different types of clay and their correct use. We will teach you how to correctly dry ceramics and prepare your piece for the firings. You will be taught the basics of glazing and the use of underglazes.

During the workshop, we will introduce you to one of the hand-building techniques while creating a simple cup. 
​
We will show you how to use botanicals and organic materials in order to create an interesting design by pressing plants into the clay.
​
You will learn how to transform an idea to practice and how to build, shape, trim & dry ceramics properly.
 
You will get 0,5kg of stoneware clay to work with.
​
After the workshop, your piece will be glazed and fired in our studio. If you prefer to glaze your piece you can come to our studio during Open Studio hours and glaze your piece by yourself. 
​
Firing clay and glazing of your finished piece are included in the price.
